The mentoring sessions can be used to address both the mentee’s area of responsibility and personal topics. The mentors share their experience with their mentees and pass on knowledge that they have determined throughout their many years of work to be useful. The aim is to create a trusting environment. The collaboration is centered around building a relationship and promoting development and is designed to be a longer-term process. Reverse mentoring is when new colleagues with different experiences and backgrounds supported tenured employees.
